My Movie (series too) Opinions

The Hobbit (1977)

directed by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin, Jr.

This movie is a pretty faithful adaptation of the original book, and so, it is pretty fun! All the whimsy of The Hobbit without having a migrane! I'm not trying to disrespct J.r.r. Tolkien here, I'm just not used to reading that particular style of prose.

It's funny to say that this humble animation is a far better adaptation and film than the 2012-2014 adaptations. Comparing the budgets sent me. The 1977 animation cost $3 million, according to wikipedia, and the 2012-2014 live-action trillogy cost $700–745 million! Just goes to show how money ain't everything.

Personally, what makes me enjoy The Hobbit more than the Lord of the Rings is the whimsy of it all. That is precisely why I am so ghappy that the film also adapted the songs! I gotta say, the Orcs' song was REALLy fuckin' goood.

My only real issue with the movie is Smaug's voice. They really could've done better. That and the lack of folie, I mean, of course there WAS folie, but not enough. They did also cut a few scenes from the book, like visiting Bjorn and a dwarf falling into the river in lego forest. There must be more, but it's been a while since I've read the Hobbit.

If you got an afternoon to spare, I'd recommend watching this! Make sure you're cosy though, you need to match the Hobbits' freak.

My Rating:

The Wyrd Sisters

Directed by Jean Flynn

Once again, I must say that this 6 part mini series is a wonderful adaptaion of Sir Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters. The script is nearly word for word! (and the jokes hit just as well on the screen as they do on the page).

In the wake of the release of DELTARUNE Chapters 3+4, we as a community have forgotten our holy ways. We have been destracted from the one true path that is Susly, and so the fate of this world grows darker, yet darker.

Umriss, meaning "outline" in German was a pre chapter 2 DELTARUNE fanfic, protagonizes and aged up Berdly, who despite having few lines in the first chapter, was so faithfully rendered to the page that I suspect that, much like the Snapewives of yore, that Berdly Himself, via possession or other means, wrote the the book. In this truest of timelines, Berdly ends up married to Susie, while Kris (who is misgendered) is married to Noelle (they have a child named Chara (also misgendered) which leaves us with in a very weird position regarding Human/Monster biology).

If thou wishes to read the holy scripture, be warned: Strange Smut including but not limited to weird beak kissing lies ahead. And if thou dost not wish to be tainted by such things, thou canst also watch the Reading Bizarre DELTARUNE Fanfiction" livestreame.

This peak fiction, The One True Book, was found by the great prophet Andrew Cunningham, who then spread the gift of Umriss to the world. Originally found in pastebin, the story finishes abruptly in a tension-filled dinner. Not wanting for this holy text to go to waste, Cunningham mobilized his community to finish it.

Once the deed was done, all 15 endings were read on stream, so that the community may decide the ending to this epic. The one true ending, Obris by IrenaReena, was picked and so the story of Umriss came to a close.

But another was soon to begin...
