Outer Wilds is one of, if not my most favorite, game of all time.
I'm very autistic about space, so the game already had that going for it, but the whole concept of having progression tied to the player's knowledge of the game really made me love it.
The story is masterfully crafted, cute and fun but sometimes being absolutely terrifying in a cosmic sense (which is the best kind of terrifying!) This game's music and overall aesthetic had a deathgrip on my subconciense for at least a year (you can tell by some of my art) and kinda made me sad that I could't exist in a universe where planets where small and space travel was so easy a pre industrial(?) society managed to atain it.
The game also shows a beautiful interpretation of (human?) nature. It's not competition, not war, it's curiosity, science, frienship and music.
I love this game so much, so if I had to recommend anyone anything it would be: play this game blind, you won't regret it.
My Rating:
This game is a spiritual successor to Hyperlight Drifter, but aside from a few mecanics and aesthetics, it doesn't have too much in common.
It's a really good speedster game where the main character must kill a black whole from inside by using a giant machine. Sadly it broke and you need to fix it.
It's really fun, but I kinda thought it could be a bit harder. I'm not complaining though, it did do a LOT for me! I mean, I DID 100% it.
The game is pretty short, so I'd recommend it to anyone who has a few weaks to burn between larger entries on their backlog!
My Rating:
Stopped in favor of Silksong. Will come back to it as soon as I find my notebook!
